MAXAIR Systems Chooses Demand Management as Its Supply Chain Planning Platform

MAXAIR Systems Chooses Demand Management as Its Supply Chain Planning Platform

Leading Air Purifying Respirator Manufacturer Increases Production to Four to Six Times Usual Levels During COVID-19 Pandemic

ST. LOUIS (June 25, 2020) – Demand Management, Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based digital supply chain management solutions, announced today that MAXAIR Systems, a recognized leader in providing powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs) for various environments, has chosen Demand Solutions® as its new supply chain planning platform.

MAXAIR Systems provides creative solutions to meet needs wherever personal respiratory and contact concerns demand the highest quality of safety and comfort to the user. When the COVID-19 pandemic caused the company’s sales of MAXAIR® PAPRs to increase to four or six times their usual levels, MAXAIR Systems needed a way to ensure it could manage its supply chain effectively so that it could produce enough MAXAIR CAPR units to meet the exploding demand. The company reached out to Demand Management for a solution.

"What we needed most was a way to allocate our inventory and supplies based on rules, rather than best estimates," said Jacob Herbert, COO and Legal Counsel, MAXAIR Systems. "Our forecasting process couldn’t prevent bottlenecks. We would often find ourselves ready to ship MAXAIR CAPR units—only to have to halt the process because a key part was on backorder from a supplier."

Just three weeks after Herbert first called Demand Management, MAXAIR Systems went live on Demand Solutions Requirements Planning and Demand Solutions Deploy. The company has used the platform to prioritize production so that it can meet the needs of the markets hardest hit by COVID-19 while still offering good levels of service to other markets.

"MAXAIR Systems is a forward-thinking company that didn’t back down from the responsibility of providing urgently needed supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management. "Rather than letting their previous systems and processes hold them back, they took the pandemic as a challenge to improve everything they do—and found ways to help save lives. We are honored to partner with a company that embraces opportunities and look forward to helping them tackle their future production challenges."

ITALCAR Cuts Stock Levels While Increasing Sales Shortly After Implementing Demand Solutions

ITALCAR Cuts Stock Levels While Increasing Sales Shortly After Implementing Demand Solutions

Tunisian Car Distributor Increases Sales, Reduces Stock Despite Challenging Financial Environment

ST. LOUIS (October 1, 2019) – Demand Management, Inc., a leading global resource for cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced today that ITALCAR, a Tunisian dealer of cars and trucks, has chosen Demand Solutions® as its new supply chain planning platform.

A subsidiary of the IDM Group, ITALCAR represents Iveco in Tunisia with two other dealers, and exclusively represents Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Lancia, and Petronas oils. The company also provides after-sales vehicles for distributed brands and sales of spare parts and accessories. ITALCAR has 180 employees across three locations in Tunisia.

Until recently, ITALCAR ran its business using a standard MRP system and spreadsheets, which made it difficult for the company to make progress towards its ambitious business performance goals. ITALCAR deployed Demand Solutions to improve visibility, increase sales, reduce stock levels, offer a greater variety of parts, and put itself in a better position to negotiate part costs with vendors.

“Our initial results from Demand Solutions left no room for doubt,” said Teymour Elhicheri, Group IT Director, ITALCAR. “Demand Solutions Demand Planning and Requirements Planning are already helping us drive our business forward in a challenging economic environment in our country. With the Tunisian Dinar being devalued, we wanted to reduce our financial risk by cutting our stock levels by at least one-third while at the same time increasing our sales. We’ve already achieved these goals with Demand Solutions.”

“We are always excited to work with companies like ITALCAR that have set specific metrics for supply chain planning success,” said Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management. “ITALCAR has achieved truly impressive goals with Demand Solutions—and we’ve only just begun our partnership. We look forward to helping them continue to exceed expectations as they grow their business, increase visibility and further automate their planning process.”

The solution uses a configurable engine that considers algorithmic planning and business rules spanning demand, supply, machine, personnel, tooling, and inventory constraints while creating achievable production plans. It then produces optimized shop schedules that keep customers happy while reducing costs.

Bridging the gap between demand planning and production scheduling, Demand Solutions Manufacturing Optimization combines short-term detailed scheduling with longer range capacity planning and modeling to simultaneously solve multiple, complex constraints and model the real-world environment. This visual planning and scheduling solution enables users to identify and resolve potential problems before they occur. Its innovative visual design provides a menu structure using progressive disclosure to help streamline processes and maximize user productivity.

Manufacturing Optimization is a native-cloud application, available by subscription, built to take advantage of the Microsoft Azure platform. The SaaS platform allows for running the solution in-memory, solving complex constraint problems quickly while providing real-time feedback to your planners. Customers can not only work with real-time data, but also mine that data for insights and manage their business proactively.

“As part of the Demand Solutions platform, Manufacturing Optimization provides a fully integrated cloud-based solution to meet the demand, supply, and manufacturing planning requirements of manufacturers,” said Bill Harrison, president of Demand Management, Inc. “The highly visual user experience will boost planner productivity and increase business confidence by creating achievable production plans.”
